Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church is a member of the Metropolitan New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
We believe that just as Jesus overstepped the boundaries of gender, race and social status, the people of God also are called to tear down barriers and to love others as God has loved us.
As Lutherans, we believe that it is only by God’s amazing grace that we are saved. God loves us as we are. We’re not perfect, but we
strive to respond to God’s love by being agents of reconciliation and justice in the world.
Any person is welcomed at our communion table...
whether you are male or female,
whether you are able bodied, or differently-abled,
whether you are poor or rich (or somewhere in between)
whether you are gay or straight,
whether you are single, married, or divorced,
whether you are old or young
whether you like to dress up or dress down,
whether you identify as Latino, white, Asian, black, Native American, African-American, or any rich combination of any of these...
Lutherans are not the only ones who believe these things. Because we recognize that, we celebrate the oneness in Christ we share with other Christian churches.
